How am I to measure
The many facets of pleasure
All hold specific treasures.
Often seen thru a lifetime’s endeavors.
Like how badly we need to succeed.
Squeezing out every need in daily effort,
Pouring out our heart’s desire until we bleed.
Either from accomplishment or abandonment
followed by the despair of discouragement is how
we often proceed.
If I could read my futures’ script
would it signal a successful trip or Just misery from
multiple mis-steps. Is it a sad state of affairs, like a tragedy.
Will it be triumph characterized by joy in victory and laughter,
as a smile tells a personal story of being happy to have been
apart of such a side-splitting comedic reality. I really hope I’m
never terrified to find past mistakes have me facing a horrible and
swift decline. Too late to climb out, my days are spent looking behind.
All things are to be lived while in life that causes one to believe
in life, a mixed bag of frowns turned upside down and smiles turned back down. Songs of heartache for seasons that seem to never end, as well as drums of heart pounding sounds within signaling the angels standing ovation from the depths of human creation. These are the signs of things that sneak up on us really fast, on the way to the day of reckoning!
