    "Inches"

    I don't care who we are

    Butcher, baker, candlestick maker

     

    Sooner or later

    We all come to a wall unconquerable

    The one that takes all the wind out of our sails

    A place that forces us to rest

    To recoup our losses

    To lose the weighty excesses

    Years of overindulgence and waste

    Suffering and disappointment

    Have saddled to our invisible midsections

     

    You know the place

    You may be there now

    Catching that second wind

     

    If so

    Don't let it get you down

     

    It's there only to make you stronger

    Lighter

    So that when the time comes to go over the wall

    We can do it easily

    Light as a feather

    With inches to spare
