    "Wishful Thinking"

    Sunrise moment

    Prays its long hello

    Now until tomorrow

     

    Beside me sleeps a dream removed

    From the treacherous pit

    Of a punishing reality

    Saved by a common thread

    A God-given thorn

    So strong and pure with need

    It can fit no other place

    But in the puzzle space

    We've been given the courage

    To occupy

     

    She knows this too

    Finally at peace

    In the unutterable knowledge

    Of what our commonality will harvest

    From the field of truth and love

    Thanks to the precious gift

    Of wishful thinking
