    The Turtle Who KNew

    They hated the turtle

    Not because he was ugly or odd

    But because he knew too much about everything

    At will

     

    And on top of that

    He knew almost nothing about running

    Or competing in the games they played

     

    They hated the turtle

    Because he took his sweet time

    Wouldn’t conform to the status quo

    And never looked back

     

    He couldn’t

    He just wasn’t designed for it

     

    He could look in and forward

    But looking back was out of the question

    Being built the way he was and all

     

    They HATED the turtle

    Because he couldn’t and wouldn’t compete with anyone

    But himself

    And this made them crazy

    And fearful

     

    They absolutely HATED the turtle

    And he could not have cared less
