SHE'S LIKE SPRING
She’s like the birth of spring
In the deadness of winter
Like a salty fresh sea breeze
In a dank festering swamp
Like a flower eagerly blooming
In the dry barren dessert
Like one hopeful green leaf
Amongst a forest of scorched foliage
Like a glittering but lonely gem
Imbedded in a cushion of mud
Like a pastel blue sky
Behind booming angry storm clouds
Like the honey of the hive
Despite the angry stings of the bees
She is the sweetness and bitterness of life
The air that I inhale and exhale
The reason that I live and die
The most important part of me
She is the likeness of me
me in miniature form
She is my daughter
Who wants to be just like me
In the deadness of winter
Like a salty fresh sea breeze
In a dank festering swamp
Like a flower eagerly blooming
In the dry barren dessert
Like one hopeful green leaf
Amongst a forest of scorched foliage
Like a glittering but lonely gem
Imbedded in a cushion of mud
Like a pastel blue sky
Behind booming angry storm clouds
Like the honey of the hive
Despite the angry stings of the bees
She is the sweetness and bitterness of life
The air that I inhale and exhale
The reason that I live and die
The most important part of me
She is the likeness of me
me in miniature form
She is my daughter
Who wants to be just like me
