Used To Be

Poem Commentary

This was the very first poem I wrote when I was about 10 years old

Used To Be

I walk along the shore
Remembering how it was before

I remember how it used to be
Used to be with you and me

I remember our first date
Remember how you walked me to my gate

I remember our first kiss
Remember how we thought we could almost miss

I can’t believe you went away
And left me here to stay

I think about you every show
Do I watch anything else? No.

I wish I could bring you the key
That would help you remember how it used to be

Used to be with you and me

very good written good meaning and feeling.keep written love to read more.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
