    Winter Kill

    Mountain lion was here yesterday,

an elk was killed and taken away.

Red spots stained soft white snow,

few pieces of flesh still remained.

    Peaceful tranquil settled surreal landscape.

    Snow storm soon coming,

    wild country full of mystery.

This poem was inspired and written during the snowmobile tour from Jackson Hole to Yellowstone Park on Feb, 2008

A good poem with such few words, leaving me there with you smelling the puma piss still lingering in the thick cold air.

beautiful scene, surreal, really, how you worked death into the beauty without molesting it. great read!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
