    Half Moon Overlook

                                        Half Moon Overlook

    Half Moon Overlook

It was here on your bench

When moon was full, river in clear view

    I was kissed, hugged

    Proposed, vowed

    Bonded with invincible love

    Half Moon Overlook

It was here in your breeze

I was told legendary tales of Henry Hudson

    He discovered “Land of Eden”

    A passage to Pacific Ocean

But his mission ended tragedy stricken

    Half moon Overlook

It was here by your fence

I heard wind blows, trees whisper

A strange voice revealed betrayal secrecy

    However, I chose to overlook

Overlook love from Half Moon Overlook

    Half Moon Overlook

It was here at your gate

While sky was grey, birds not singing

    I was left alone, abandoned

He turned to mistress’ waiting pussy

My heart sank into Half Moon’s ruined bottom…

Half Moon Overlook is located on Palisade Avenue, Riverdale, Bronx. It overlooks the Harlem-Hudson confluence. It is named after Henry Hudson’s ship.100 ft in elevation.

Henry Hudson is a British navigator and explorer (1570-1611). He sailed in his ship “Half Moon” from the island Manhattan on the river that would bear his name to find passage to Pacific. Hudson presumably froze to death while his crew starved or were killed.

Great image! I can feel the dissappointment! Was it the person or the location that caused the doom? Well done! Great story!

Exquisuite piece of poetry that casts mystical shadows throughout and captivates all that come to read it.

ah, the places that must bear witness to our unfolding story...they are haunted by our own ghosts. this is beautifully written and so powerful we too can now see your ghosts...10

    Thanks Artie

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
