Festival at Native Temple (Parivettai) - 2
Parivettai (2)
It is about three hundreds of years ago
Four groups of people had taken
Efforts and made This Kamakshi Amman temple
Started worship
A big bell capable of giving its sound
To reach a few miles ahead is there
Being used by the time of puja time
By the temple persons
At the temple the goddess - lamp
Is placed in small room eight by eight
Feet since the formation was made
And maintained by the Guru only
In the front of the room which is named
Karuvarai the guru is sitting at the usual
Seat facing the main entrance, he is seeing
Everybody who are all nearing him
Guru is always appearing very simple
Wearing dhoti and a head with turban
And he used to give viboothi as prasatham
And the devotees will receive in humble manner
The viboothi is made out from cows’ in a
Saintly way and this is a very special one
And all the devotees will receive on their
Dhoti’s end and the ladies on their sari’s end
Preserve the viboothi and wear it on the
Forehead, as the symbol and this is white
In appearance and as if the gift from the
Goddess Kamakshi Amman
A small gathering can stand in front of
The guru and the devotees will give full respect
And bow their head and worship by making
Two hands jointly
One can see the place is very neatly white washed
In the saintly manner and the floor is also clean
One can sit easily and there is a number brass bells
Which are hanging at the roof can be easily operated
By the devotees making bell sounds while the Poosari
Is performing the pooja and thereby light and sound
Is very much important as it may be from Trumpet,
Flute, chinkki, thabola, harmonium what so ever
At the very front face temple is having a big gopuram
With five stages and at the top five kalasam made of
Brass metal which will have contact with cosmic energy
Light, wind, sky and atmosphere – planets
Gopuram is furnished with a number of statues with epics
And moral exposures in good colored paints
Those are most special and attractive to on lookers
And this is symbol mark to give us directions towards the village
The main entrance of temple is with a very big and long
Doors kept open under the control of Guru as comes
In the morning for puja and in the evening too till he leaves
In the night and it will remain closed rest of the time
Guru will not open the doors of the temple during any
Death occurred in the village after the death function
Is finished the temple floors are all washed and cleaned
For performing pooja and worship by the oncoming devotees
