VINAYAGAR CHATHURTHI
VINAYAGAR CHATHURTHI
This is a very important festival of Indian
Hindus as the birth of lord vinayagar
Son of god shiva and parvathy
On this day fourth day after the new moon
Of Avani Tamil month, he is called by several names
Pillar vigneshwar ganesa lambotharan – having
Four hands human body with big stomach, head of
An elephant with trunk and one stem broken
He is the adimoolam having shrine and worship first
In all the Hindus’ temple start with prayers
Before going to worship other divine god or goddess
Of Hindus
Hindus worship him in different forms more than thirty-three
With songs and prayers, he will satisfy our request
And give us smooth life removing difficulties and impediments
In our daily walk of life
His chariot is mouse nicely taking its place at his foot
And he likes arukambul mala mostly
Kolukkattai and chundal are likeable food made for him
And placed as neivedyam
In this day Hindus worship at their places having pooja
As to their willingness making small or big statue by sand-clay
In most colourful and decorative form, singing songs on him
In an auspicious way gathering in their pooja room
Next day they used to carry the statues and dissolve in
Sea mostly or watery place as tradition
Most of the person will like the appearance of this god
With trunk in front as his hand
