Green Balloons

Green Balloons

If I could sail among the stars
the planets and their moons,
I’d gather stardust just for you
to give with green balloons.

There’s starlight and a soft moon glow
that beckon to me now,
as I set sail to reach the stars
with luck to show me how.

I see you waiting there for me
you’re standing on a star,
and although there’s great distance there
it’s really not that far.

I glide along toward Saturn’s rings
and marvel at the sight,
till morning dawns and wakes me from
my dreaming through the night.

If I could sail among the stars
the planets and their moons,
I’d gather stardust just for you
to give with green balloons.
