The Gentle Poet
Praise to the gentle poet,
my fellow wordsmith,
seeking a word or phrase
to convey a feeling,
to tell a story, to bring
a smile or a tear.
Hours spent in a timewarp
writing as thoughts spill
out upon the page.
At times random and
sporadic, the words come
as they will or not at all.
Sometimes the words fall
into place as if they had
always been, pouring
onto the page in a purge
of the soul.
Yes, praise to the gentle
poet who holds the power
of words in his pen.
