    The Desert

    I saw the desert
    through your
    knowing eyes
    with colors of pink,
    tan, gold, and red.
    A blazing sunset
    slipped below
    the horizon bringing
    the cooling of the night.
    The stars were vivid
    lights in the inky,
    black sky where silence
    was the only thing heard
    except the symphony
    of the night desert air.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
