    Poem Commentary

I wrote this in a very melancholy state of mind. Its some what autobiographical..... just a little

    LoneWolf

    On a distant hill
    He watches the pack......
    His pack
    As they wander through
    The flatlands below

    Once upon a time
    He was strong and fearless
    And commanded their respect
But as age became his enemy
A new alpha male has taken his place

    The scars he bears
    Tell of a time
    When strength and dominance
    Were his closest allys
    And obedience ruled his domain

As time begins to slip away
He knows his days are numbered
    The chill of the wind
Cuts through his once prized coat
As he gazes upon the pack one last time

From the door of another realm
    He hears a soft whisper
The voice of his beloved mate
    From many years ago
He longs to nuzzle her once more

    His eyes fill with tears
As he closes them one final time
    He opens the door
    And enters
