My Sanguine Knight

Poem Commentary

A little something which escaped my pen unexpectedly. Really not sure about it though.

My Sanguine Knight

It is the space you fill

The void you occupy,

That I most keenly feel

When we are parted.

For every immortal moment

We spend locked

In a fantastic orbit

About our love,

A thousand more

Will be blackened

With unnatural solitude.

When we are apart,

My chest folds tight

And my eyes leak salty tears,

Of breathless loss.

I yearn for you,

Your touch and taste,

Kiss and embrace,

Your smile, your laugh,

Your warm arms

Holding me in restful,

Unapologetically blissful

Slumber.

My sanguine knight.

This is an excellent piece, and when read aloud rolls smoothly off the tongue and leaves a pleasant aftertaste! Lovely work!

Thank you for commenting! Yes being apart from someone you love is very difficult, but the reunion afterwards is all the sweeter. Thank you again! Narrator.

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
