Where the laburnum blossoms fall...

Where the laburnum blossoms fall...

In the garden of my life,

Where the laburnum blossoms fall,

Where the gold of the spring sun glows,

Where jasmine perfume wanders in nature’s hall,

There you shall find us, my love and I,

Entwined betwixt the towering oak,

And the delicate Babylonian tower,

Muttering in strange tongues, of strange lands.

Narrator, please add on to this wonderful piece. I feel that you wanted to write more perhaps [ they are lovely stanzas]. I applause your imagery and diction. Helios

Thank you for your comment, it is very much appreciated! Yes the poem was an irksome one to say the least, but at the time it was as near to completion as I was able to bring it. I am always reluctant to re-visit such old pieces for fear that I will not be able to capture the original spirit of the poem, or that it wont end up in the same place as I intended at the beginning. Your suggestion has however inspired me to give it a go, and I will see where the journey takes me! 'O truant muse, what shall be thy amends.'

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
