    daddy left

I want you around I hope you know
I want you here to watch your grandkids grow
I wait for the call to hear you are coming home
or to hear you whisper those words " I have missed you so"
you are missed so much but not often told
there are many times we need you to hold
I have cried myself to sleep so very many times
when I would wake up the tears would still be in my eyes
who I am to judge what you have done
but this hasn't been easy on anyone
when you left it tore my world apart
what hurt the most was no-one could fill the emptiest in my heart
now you are now back in town
but yet you are still not around
no phone call just to say hi
    I just don't understand why

Human nature is remarkable and great at its finest moments; yet, it can turn on itself and those they love. Who knows the torment that led to his abandonment.......go on with your life and do what you would like him to do........you have the prescription because of your sadness..........

my father left when i was 16 and i had a very little bro and sis. it tore us all apart but we are ok. i talk to him all the time but to this day i really haven't sat down and talked to him about the situation. i have my own family and couln't be happier. things happen for a reason and i am glad they did because my mom found someone who is the best to her and to us.. i think no matter how old u r when things happen like that so unexpectedly it something that will stay with u.

That was a very real, heart filled poem, asking, why. Each word flowing from your pen, making your poem come alive. Thank you for sharing. My prayers are with you + your children, God's with you, amen !

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
