    my kids

My kids give me the biggest smile on my face
they don't have to say " I love you" they can give me a long embrace
My kids know I love them as I hold them in my arms
They know their mama will always keep them from harm
My kids play together of course get hurt and cry
once again I am there to wipe the tears from their eyes
My kids one day will be all grown
they will start a family of their own
But for now I will cherrish them while they are small
I really don't mind cleaning their prints off the wall
My kids prints one day will no longer be there
that is the day I will shed my biggest tear
So, to my kids please remember when it's your time to go out on your own
If for some reason it doesn't work out you are more than welcome to come back home

mine are still little, but I miss my little brother's fingerprints, often chocolate on the sheets, my sweets can't have chocolate but you'd be surprised how much mess can be made with Desatin Cream, I'll post the pic someday, Like pale African Tribal warriors with white handprints on little nude bodies.

I see your kids are very precious to you, the same mine are to me. Just the look on their faces tells a million stories.

I WROTE A COMMENT EARLIER ABOUT THIS AND IT DIDN'T SHOW UP FOR SOME REASON. I THINK WE LOVE OUR CHILDREN AND WOULD DO ANYTHING TO PROTECT THEM. I LOVED WATCHING THEM GROW FROM LIL ONES TO NOW ALMOST PRE-TEEN..THEY ARE PRECIOUS NO MATTER THE AGE.

Aww this is so sweet. I think a mother's love is the greatest gift a child can have and vice versa. i wrote a poem for my kids too its called "mama's angels" if you want to read it. Nice work

This is an awesomely, well written, heart filled poem. The imagary of your words, are very honest ! God is with you all + thanks for sharing.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
