    Jury Duty Excuse
    I got one of those dreaded 
    duty notices for jury 
    Every year I get one  
    and all I feel is fury 
    I have little to no respect  
    for the justice system 
    And until they fix it  
    I'm going to resist them 
      
    Being on a jury represents  
    everything I'm against 
    So I'm making sure to be  
    excused by the defense 
    Works every time giving  
    glaring looks at the criminal 
    Confirming my time here  
    in court will be minimal 
      
    One thing I felt would  
    get me excused quickly 
    I told the judge that I believe  
    all criminals are guilty 
    After listening to every word  
    the judge had to say 
    I was finally dismissed  
    and sent on my way

    I like the topic and your feelings about it. To me though it sounds very conversational rather than poetic. I wonder if you deleted some if it might be stronger. For instance in the last 4 lines might be - judge listened to my words, no choice but dismissal, sent me on my way. I think that might screw up your rhyme scheme but just a friendly suggestion.,

    Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
