Alien Invader
An alien lives insideAnd it multiplies
As it lives, one dies
The zest for life fades
As the alien invades
Eating one's life away
With every passing day
One regurgitates
Loosing weight
Regenerating cells of death
Takes away one's breath
No longer in control
Cries from a desperate soul
Clinging for life and reaching out
Above and beyond all doubt
From all the anguish and pain
A shred of hope remains
Options; there are few
What does one do?
Surgical intervention can remove the enemy
Hopeful of stopping the ravished eating frenzy
Inside a fighting shell
Radiation raises hell
Creating a shield
Between living cells and those killed
As one fights to live
We pray that enough folks give
If we give generously we can be sure
Science will discover a cancer cure
