A DISEASED FOREST
A once perfect forest is now a colossal gloom
As the mortality of mountain pines face imminent doom
This mountain community has become my second home
Now all the dead trees target an infestation zone
This catastrophic epidemic has caught us unprepared
So we must act quickly and other trees may be spared
The reason is specific although the details are vague
We must rescue our forests from an awful plague
Bark beetles leave a fungus which causes disease
Resulting in death to all the infected trees
The natural balance of nature is being affected
Property owners and their livelihood are subjected
There's no easy answer but let's all get involved
Together we shall work at getting this problem solved
Protecting our planet starts with preservation
Conserving forestry is everyone's obligation
