Midday Rhapsody

Poem Commentary

It is such a warm day today down here in Florida that it feels almost like summer. Hence I brought out this summer poem I'd written.

Midday Rhapsody

What a delight to our senses this midsummer’s day,

When we stop and take notice of natures display.

A dove coo’s in the country as it pecks at the ground,

And scratches through thatches which around it abound.

A butterfly dances in balletic breeze,

Betwixt bushes and trees and the flowers one sees.

Birds flock to the feeders while squirrels hunt all about,

Searching for seed from wildflower’s no doubt.

The sun brightly shines overhead in the sky,

Casting shadows that thrill us in kaleidoscope style.

Birds singing their songs from points all around,

Miscellaneous melodies enraptured in sound.

The breeze tickles our whisker’s and teases the leaves,

Which break into minuet branch interweaves.

Above, a royal blue view everywhere eye’s can see,

A final touch to this summer’s… Midday Rhapsody.

This is a perfect poem to get in the mood for Spring. One comment: I don't think you need the apostrophes in coo's, wildflower's and whisker's.

Thank you Bob. I don't know what it is with me and apostrophes that mistakenly lead to all these redundancies. I'll have to be more careful in the future. Blessings, Whiskers.
