"Soft memories of You"
Soft memories of You
Many are the times, I sit and stare,
Trying so hard to envision you
All I see though . . . Is an empty chair
An memories that make me so blue
I keep the table lamp, lit dimly
With your Quilt work lying near
Recalling hands, working so nimbly
Haunting memories, so hard to bear
Your favorite plant, sits on the table
I'm sure to water it, and take care
Keeping things just as you left them
Pretending daily, that you're still here
The scene is set, As I steal a gaze
And thoughts of you . . . come to mind
Yet sometimes, I'm in sort of a daze
Since you've gone, and left me behind
I know dear, my days are numbered
For me, my love. . . I know you wait
It won't be long, until I meet you
Arms outstretched, at the "Pearly Gate "
