"If Not For The Apple"
If Not For The Apple
If it hadn't for been for the apple
Hanging so prettily on that tree
It would be so very different
For Adam, Eve, you and me
I believe God had a better plan
For His creation, that He made
I imagine it hurt Him badly
Seeing, well made plans . . . Fade
The apple, a sign of temptation
To lure against one's will
Caused the downfall of creation
And shame, it did instill
Imagine, how Eve was tempted
With that apple hanging there
Beckoning to be plucked . . .
Emitting sweet fragrance, into the air
I try to envision Eve's plight
For the temptation would be great
But she should have called, on God
To be strong, but instead.…She ate
Ate of the apple, forbidden fruit
Listening to lies, Satan did tell
How delighted he must have been
Thinking we were doomed, to Hell
He thought he had won the war
And had stolen man away
Accomplishing, his wicked plan
Leading God's own . . . Astray
It was such a love, that God had
For all His children, everyone
Not letting Satan, win the battle
He sent a sacrifice, His only Son
