"So, I Am A Little Different . . ."
So, I Am A Little Different . . .
Go ahead, stare and make fun
But, to God . . . I am special you see
He has love and compassion for everyone
Everything He gave to you, He also gave to me
He gave me a loving heart, toward others
He gave me strength, to see me through
He shows me how to forgive, and love
People that laugh . . . And make fun, too
Yes, I am a little different than others
My speech and walk, might bring a smile
Yet, you are my sisters and brothers
But, some cause days. . . To be, a trial
Even though, I am a little different than you
That doesn't mean. . . I have no, feelings
When treated badly, I feel sad and blue
Jesus sees, and then sends His healings
I want you to try and understand
I really want, for you to know
I need your friendship, and helping hand
I will be loyal, even though. . . A little slow
So remember . . . when you want to make fun
Laughing, because I am different than you
Just know that, when all is said and done
That Jesus really does love me. . . Too!

THOUGHTS & VERSES: . .
I have noticed at different times and occasions in my life, how mean some people can be. Particularly to the "Special" children of God, I am talking about those born with: Disfigurement, Downs Syndrome, Mental Retardation, and many other disabilities. In this era, these children are referred to, in most cases as "Special" which is appropriate, for I feel they are special in God's eyes.
These children seem to be so grateful for love and any attention we give to them. I believe they understand that they are different, yet want only acceptance.
Nothing infuriates me more, than to see one of these being teased and taunted by others! I can't help wonder how they can have such a mean heart to do this to these "Special" people.
In respect for these special ones, I have felt led to write the poem on this page, to express. . . .Maybe, a little of what they may be feeling.
The following verses come to mind, where these "Special Ones" are concerned:
VERSES:
Isaiah 41:10
1 Corinthians 14:33 a
James 3:16-18
Isaiah 50:7
Psalm 55:22
Psalm 119:165
