"The Fishermen"
The Fishermen
From the shore of Galilee
Fishermen sailed one day
As they ventured on their quest
The winds stirred up, there was no rest
The boat, it rocked from side to side
The fishermen started to fear
Stern expressions, were on their faces
A menacing storm was near
They wished their Lord had come along
He would know what to do
But, He hadn't . . . They were afraid
Their faith, was thrown askew
The lightning flashing, sails at full yield
With waters splashing all about
Try as they might, they had no control
It was then, they began to shout
Suddenly . . . Walking on the water
A shadowy figure began to appear
The fishermen huddled together
Thinking a ghost was near
Jesus called out: "It is I"
To the men in the storm, at sea
Peter called back: "If it's really you,
Order me out to meet Thee"
So out of the boat and on to the water
Peter walked, to meet his Lord
He started to sink, his faith weakening
As the dark murky waters roared
Jesus reached for Peter's hand
"Ye of Little faith" said He
The fishermen all bowed praising Him
. . . On the Sea of Galilee
Those fishermen learned a lesson
On that dark and stormy night
It was to keep their eyes . . . On Jesus
He'll deliver you from your plight
