The Night............

The night was cold and long.......
The moon was bright......
The temperature dropped below freezing.....
But I survived until dawn......

I laid there cold and lifeless.....
Like if I was a corpse.....
Still in the freezing of the night.....
Raped in blankets.....
" Thinking isn't this nice! "

I knew I would survive.....
Like I have,many of times......
Feeling the presence of angles just watching ..........
          Over me!!!!!!!!


Like if I was just alone..............
On an island of paradise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Almost froze............................
I awoke to see the sun rise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


To feel it's warm rays...........
Kiss my skin again....................................................
I laid down the night before as I prayed...............
Just one more day Lord..............
Please give it to me...........................................
Even if I awake hungry ...........


And as my eyes began to open.........
I thought what a glorious day......................
Does this happen often......................
Dear Lord if it does.........
I just pray............
You help them...........................
More then you help me.........................................


Cause the life I lived...........
Was so off key...........................................
I never loved any-one but me.............................
But yet this freezing winter morning.............................
Here I still live............
