Apology
No way
To erase
The pain of disconnection . . .
Laughter
In jest
But the heart breaks the slow chisel down the center,
When I
Think of
My cruelest behavior . . .
Disappearances mirror
Justifications.
I want nothing else to do with me but alas,
I'm stuck inside this body
For the duration.
So it's with this contrite spirit I apologize.
With the changed me recalling the past I say "I'm sorry".
Sadly the miles pushed past the brink and underneath fatigue
Found me . . .
I wish
That you knew
My face.
I still sleep late,
I still meditate,
I still remember better times
When I was learning how to be.
Your lessons have not escaped my ears,
Let absence bear witness vicarious
If you can feel.
Half of me would rather slice through my insides
To show my purity.
Sometimes "sorry"
Just ain't enough . . .
So it's with this contrite spirit I apologize.
With the changed me recalling the past I say "I'm sorry".
Sadly the miles pushed past the brink and underneath fatigue
Found me . . .
I wish
That you knew
My face.
A lasting
Prayer
On these lips that before you depart on wings
I get to put my heart and soul in your hands
To take with you
On your journey
Compound regret sober enough to deflate
Straight up and gone before you left.
To erase
The pain of disconnection . . .
Laughter
In jest
But the heart breaks the slow chisel down the center,
When I
Think of
My cruelest behavior . . .
Disappearances mirror
Justifications.
I want nothing else to do with me but alas,
I'm stuck inside this body
For the duration.
So it's with this contrite spirit I apologize.
