    Transcontinental Desperation

    Eight days and eternity wide,
Spaning more than a thousand miles.
Every fraction further stretches my heart thinner.
    A pittance to most, I'm developing a new repose . . .

Atlantic blue is all you see,
    Escape is all you need.
Finding it hard to breath, impossible to weep
My chest empites shallow breathing . . .

    Fragile fantasy wound up dead,
Tied not with ribbon but heartstrings instead.
    Pulling us ever closer,
Every fraction further bleeds me more . . .

The downside to chasing blue star across this beautifual wasteland. A stranger in a strange town, home locked and sealed with caution tape and keys.
You're your own family now, the unspoken disowned. The shame of two names, your mistimed exodus now severs another chance at being whole . . .

My sanity lies just off the deep end and if I keep a smile on my face it's only to keep the world from laughing and taking names.

This "never die" attitude will kill me. If my heart sinks any lower, I'll pass it through. The chances for love here drop to zero . . .

No sympathy for the quarter century and bottom out after every big shot lost. Stardom is elusive and success a stubborn companion . . .

Atlantic blue is all you see,
    Escape is all you need.
Finding it hard to breath, impossible to weep
    My soul is empty.
