Interstate 5
Isolation . . . beset on all sides by weakness.
Unintentional intimidation . . . that's why I sleep alone.
Not by choice, circumstance defeats without lifting a finger.
Oppression and depression rhyme their reasons without keeping time . . . absolute and irreplaceable.
Hit the wall head first 'cause giving up doesn't count for much . . .
Once upon a time sunshine shown through the clouds in her smile.
Months later the denial pays a visit letting you know I failed . . .
I couldn't protect you.
Traipsing around unfamiliar to strangers and friends alike.
Suits are combatants, until today I was their pride and joy,
Now I'm just inactive.
I still believe, but not like you see . . . it takes the brokenhearted lens to view my religion properly.
This is the hymn that doesn't bring you back to good graces . . .
Just a narcotic to ease the pain of passing.
Sooner or later we leave destiny with dust,
It just should have been me, just before it was you . . .
Sooner or later we leave destiny with dust,
It just should have been me, just before it was you . . .
