In Search Of . . .
Turning over new leaves slowly . . . this autumn falls heavy.
The burden of being away burning these shoulders
Strained in fatigue.
The beauty of early evening and sunrise blended serene.
A venture for a trifle,
Nothing smile upon the downcast
Patiently waiting for new horizons.
At dawn we retire, teleconnections remain
The solitary means of salvation.
This reminder of vision quests and the times I killed myself . . .
This priest turned demon, justice save you.
Upon the growth of egotistical shadow, true humility strangled.
Never stretching our petals to photosynthesize . . . we grow hungry.
Our faces divided, hidden expressions with sensitivity.
Concerns develop the dark and dismal canopy
Encircling this life of emptiness.
Forever search to fill the void . . . hypocrisy . . .
No crimes such as these have we committed.
The wrong place at the wrong time yields benefit.
Still our bodies are cold and distant as the night's seconds count and eternity . . .
Still our bodies are cold and distant as the night's seconds count and eternity . . .
