The Knowledge
Emotion . . . self-contained, I've learned about over-excitement . . .
This steady mind and the chaos beneath, all in cycles I've lived before . . . it's revisiting.
Not so shackled and ashamed, thoughts are forever and no one will understand this demeanor.
Worry not about leaving, but becoming a memory . . . I'm forgetful.
The water is clean and smooth, lie your head down . . . ease your troubles.
We're turning, crashing like the waves.
The peace I feel with you here is undercurrent, the tide pulls me away . . . the past drifts into today . . .
Sarcasm knows no audience and how we fade . . .
Drawn to the places we don't belong.
Shutting out all attempts to explain . . .
Walking unafraid in public, slice heart to equalize the damage.
Unshaken in self-confidence, itching to go forward from hideaway living.
Find small spotlight comfort,
Even though I've no one to hold, keep success a secret not to change me.
Regardless, the knowledge frays on the mind . . .
You know I dread repeating . .
Regardless, the knowledge frays on the mind . . .
You know I dread repeating . . .
