Breakup

Breakup

I thought life was over
I thought we were done
You walked out the door
to find another one

You said you wanted space
You wanted a new face
She is in you life now
But why do you have a frown

You brag about your happiness
About your new life
But all I see is sadness
As you are about to take her for your wife

Baby is on the way
But you have asked me to stay
I am not that kind
Not even full of wine

Good luck with your family
All I want to say
Is thank you dear one
for getting me out of the way

Tough irony for a tough day. I note well your mental toughness, too, you will get through this debacle of love.

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
