Torture

Spiraling torture is my soul
Inside my head it takes a toll
Life my not be so bright
I pace around in the night

Silver birds fly over head
All my emotions are feeling dead
Numbness and torture are in my brain
Oh why must I feel so much pain

Spiraling torture in my soul
I have but only one major goal
Inside the light is what I write
I refuse to give up without a fight

Blue water are facing me
All I want is to be just me
Serious questions may be asked
But lifes long journey is just a task

Spiraling torture of my soul
All of my emotions are just dead

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
