Red Man's Fight!

Red Man's Fight!

A journey I will share with you this day,
about a people who was forced away
There Red skin was a curse
according to a whiteman's verse
Forcing them into a rail car
moving them to a land so far
taking them away from the land of their birth
Their tears of sadness are still on this earth
It seem to me that we have forgotten
How the Red man was treated so Rotten.
We talk about the olden days
and how the whiteman held slaves at bay
But what about my peoples fight
to save their land and their way in the night!

A plight so long forgotten, the most evil ever committed in by those " Believers " escaping something thought oppressive, go figure. What has happened to the " New " land and its original people. Love the concept and awareness aroused by this write, be well.

I agree. I was reading a news article about the civil war and everyones seems to think only the slaves had it bad but they didn't, the Indians had it just as bad if not worse at times. I am proud of my heritage and my ancestors and think they should have some recognition for their parts in history and not just that they hated white men.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
