Kung Fu Man

Poem Commentary

To David Carradine,  A man I greatly admired when i was growing up. I will miss you.

Kung Fu Man

Kung Fu magic is what he gave
A lot of people he did save.
Sharing his wisdom across the land
I heard he even had played in a little band
Movies so magical in my eyes
Now here I sit with a eery sigh
Hating the rumors and the speculation
Why do people have to give such an evaluation
When I was a child, I watched you everyday
Wishing I could be like you someday
Kung Fu magic is what you gave
Honor is what you saved
David Carradine rest  in peace, gone not forgotten is what I feel
Journey on to your new movie deal.

Interesting poem. A tribute to a man lost to such a dark secret is moving. I hope you write more tributes in the future.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
