Forbidden Love
I lie awake again with thoughts of youI have never escaped these times
No matter how my life goes on
No matter how many rhymes
I mourn for strengths that you once had
Before you were beaten down
I think of things that could have been
Those loves you could have found
And I realize love is not just a word
But a truth that lingers through your life
Reaching too deeply into ones soul
Teaching us with the sacrifice
As I have walked my own unique path
I've watched away and watched alone
As destiny tore you apart
And your heart it turned to stone
The needles you need were cold and sharp
Your life a spinning storm
The pleasures lost within the need
Nowhere will you find warmth
I watch you wrythe within the pain
And you stumbled lost within the cold
As you slowly lost all gentle things
Growing too soon old
I weap within my love for you
Which followed you through the years
It has reached for you within your pain
My eyes cried alone your tears
But I had to walk a different path
Protecting innocense
I must avoid the evil seeds
And make a difference
I weap for the dreams you would have known
For the loves so clear and true
As I watch the tragedy of a man
Who never even knew
