    The Rose

    The scarlet Rose
    Waiting silently in velvet green
to mark such a gentle twist
    to a tortured day
    and I say to myself
    I wish it weren't roses
    but more of your time
    you should give away

    the cool evening breezes
    reach out to touch
    with the gentle kiss
    of the quiet spring
    and I am waiting
    In the stillness of silence
to see what this night will bring...

That's beautiful, yet made me sad at the same time. Waiting is horrible in any case and I have been there. When you stop waiting and searching what you are looking for seems to come to you, doesn't it generally occur that way? Sorry, mind went elsewhere. Wonderful poem though.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
