    Innocence (Lost)

     Jeopardizing all I know
    Risking everything I have
    I'm wretched by choice
    But can you forgive?
    I know I'm a mess
    I know I'm disappointing
    Mama, I'm so sorry
    But what can I say?

    The innocence you taught
    Is all but sold and bought
    I'm afraid I've grown up
    And become too corrupt
    Childhood is dead and gone
    And I'm just another pawn

    My friends aren't anything
    You would want for me
    Some have no loyalties
    But can I find better?
    Mama, please believe me
    I am so sorry for this
    I've made so many mistakes
    Is it really worth it?

    The innocence you taught
    Is all but sold and bought
    I'm afraid I've grown up
    And become too corrupt
    Childhood is dead and gone
    And I'm just another pawn

    I know I said I'm done
    I've had all my cake
    And I fear I've eaten it too
    But was it worth it?
    I see it in your voice
    How sad you have become
    Mother, I'm sorry
    Am I really your son?

    You've raised me better
    Than who I was tonight
    I know I've done wrong
    Can you forgive me this?
    I'm such a terrible mess
    My youth and my heart
    Have died mostly away
    Mama, please forget this
