Truest Love
It takes a lot of time,For two souls to feel
As if they are one.
To fully meld together,
To become half the other.
Unless of course,
The souls are ours.
Two people we are,
Different as can be.
But here in your arms,
My soul feels fully whole.
Never before have I
Truly felt this way.
All past loves feel
Inadequate, incomplete,
When our two hearts
Do briefly touch.
In moments of silence,
When all is still,
When we two are alone,
The universe halts,
If only for a short moment,
I feel as though I,
Imperfect as can be,
Have experienced
All that is pure and good
By merely gazing
Into your gorgeous eyes.
