Power Struggle
I’m sorry for my ways
I’m sorry my actions made you turn the other way
Ain’t no other way for me to be
Life is hard
A lot harder than what was expected
Life is not supposed to be about struggle
We have the power to achieve
We have the power of knowledge
We have the power to set goals
Aim high
Be proud of who you are
It is a power surge
A lightening bolt
Like fire and ice
Love is gold
Power is attachment
Attachment is bonded
Power to the people!
Flashbulbs goin’ off
Walkin’ in a crowd
Everybody screamin’ my name
Glitz and glamour ain’t all it’s cracked up to be
All that glitters ain’t always gold
Did I choose the right path?
Am I really supposed to be here?
Living this moment...fulfilling a dream
Wanna quit
Wanna run
Just wanna give up
Is it really worth all of this for a piece of paper?
Starting to fall
Starting to lose hope
Starting to lose faith
Frustration and anger gettin’ the best of me
Gotta keep fightin’
Gotta keep prayin’
But all this hopin’, wishin,’ and dreamin,’
is starting to wear thin
Mama says, "Keep fightin’, stand strong, don’t matter what people think. Your first book just dedicate to me."
It feels good forming words that make folk hunger for more
Gotta realize I’m not the only one
No one knows my heart
No one ever takes the time to truly get to know
It’s just a struggle
A power struggle
Uniting to be one
