The Blind Man
I knew a man
who couldn't see
sorrow for him I felt
for he couldn't cherish
all the beauty
with his hand that God had dealt
I asked him once
does he get sad
for the things he can't behold
and if he could
would he change his life
for the beauty of the world
he said friend
I've seen all things
but not with my eyes
I see these things
with heart and soul
and the visions in my mind
have you ever seen
a summer's breeze
that whisps across your nose
or seen the beauty
of a sunlit beach
by the sand between your toes
have you ever seen
a rain fall
from the dampness on your cheek
or have you seen
a river's roar
and the babble of a creek
I see these things
every day
so feel no sorrow for me
go see the world
then ask yourself
who's the one who can not see
