    • Been on a hiatus for awhile, but I'm back and have the itch to write some poetry.

    Numb is the Love

    fading away
    like a ship in the distance
    our love subsides
    with little resistance
    neither one tries
    to fix the mistakes
    neither one wants
    to do what it takes
    too proud to admit 
    afraid to be wrong
    too easy to quit
    a love that was strong
    as if in a dream
    that isn't real
    we've lost our emotions
    and forgot how to feel
    numb to the touch
    dull is the pain
    our hearts are all heavy
    like they're drenched from the rain
    like a rope that is dangling
    our love's reached its end
    and now I'm not sure
    if I'll ever love again

    travis...another excellent piece of poetry. sad, but you've captured the numb regret of loss very well.
