    • Been on a hiatus for awhile, but I'm back and have the itch to write some poetry.

    A Poet's Soul

    what's it mean when people say
    you have a poets soul
    does it mean that sometime in your life
    you had to pay the toll
    must your life be filled with heartache
    to try and find the words
    of all that you are feeling
    and put them into verse
    to open up the things
    found way down deep inside
    all of your experiences
    and turn them into rhyme
    does it just come natural
    from the day that you were born
    or can it come later
    when heartaches left you torn
    to use as an outlet
    for all the hurt and sorrow
    as a way that you can feel like
    you'll make it to tomorrow
    the definition of a poets soul
    I don't know where to start
    I  guess you have a poets soul
    if it comes from your heart

    I found your work when it was new and did not have the time to read it, so I saved and am so glad that I did. your writing touches the heart and when you can do that, no question, you have the poet's soul....am adding to my favorites...thank you mlea

    I am quite in love with your poetry. you write as I do...with very little intentional use of devices, it pours from your heart/soul/mind in a unanimous expression of who you are. Very rare I think, the gift of being able to communicate so much with so few words in such a clear and musical voice. Excellent write!
