    • Been on a hiatus for awhile, but I'm back and have the itch to write some poetry.

    Unsaid

    my eyes are getting heavy
    and i'm feeling kinda weak
    I think i'm going to shut them now
    and try to get some sleep
    but if I close my eyes
    i'm afraid of what i'll miss
    what if I never wake again
    to feel your gentle kiss
    the way I really feel
    I keep bottled up inside
    I never shared my thoughts with you
    inside my head they hide
     if I never got to tell you
    and didn't wake up from my sleep
    then the rain that falls from heaven
    will be the tears that I will weep

    hi travis, i saw ur comment on the "constructive criticism" thread in the poetry forums saying ur just a beginner and u'd love some feedback, also that the death of ur mom sparked ur poetry writing. well, honestly, i love this poem... it's my 1st of urs i've read, and it's VERY good. Isn't it amazing that from something perceived to be bad, ur gift is unleashed... something that was buried there inside u all along, but didn't really take flight until u lost ur mom.
