    UNFORGOTTEN LOVE

The love we once had, was so very strong

Years down the road, I wake up and it is gone

A long time ago, I was once so happy

Now I’m very sad, and feel so sappy

For being ignorant, and being stupid

For being the arrow that shot through cupid

The love I had, I took for granted

Instead of understanding, I began to panic

The things I had, seemed so near

But grew farther away, within a year

Now I look back, and all I find

Are the pictures and memories, left behind

How close and dear do I hold these

Close enough to bring me trembling to my knees

The love I had, will forever last

Even though I dwell in the future, I long for the past

All the memories that I’ll never forget

From start to finish, each and every bit

Form the first time I saw you, lit like a torch

Till the last time we cried, sitting on your porch

I will hold those memories always and forever

Never forgetting, the love and time we spent together

This is sweet. Very emotional. hind sight's 20/20... Doesn't it figure? The things we would all do differently, If we could do it all again. Great write. -Fallenangel87-

everyone remembers time spent with a person were once in love with, the way this world works is you just gotta put those memories aside and make new ones with another "love of your life". i enjoyed reading this, amazing job! =)

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
