    Bahama Breeze

Down to the land of the Bahamas I go.
Cool refreshing waters to the bottom they show.
A place I often visited in a dream of mine.
Heaven only knows it's about that time.
It's time to win the drawing that AT&T is having.
So hard for me to hear agents all around me bragging.
Bragging about the number of the tickets they won.
When in reality, it only takes one.
This lucky number that they will be drawing is going to come up mine and you'll see me bawling.
Bawling tears of joy about the prospects of winning.
What a sight they'll see as I lay on the beach.
Sipping Jack Daniels and grinning cheek to cheek.
With my polaroid, I will take pictures of sunsets.
Reminding the folks back home of all the fun they did miss.
But while I am away, I will drop a dime.
Or I'll send a dainty post card off from time to time.
Until we meet again in no less than one week.
I'll be kicking up white sand on a far away beach.
    See yah !!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
