    God I Am Blessed

How blessed I am dear God, thank you kindly, my Lord.
    You have given me treasures.
I have the best of both worlds.
I was born of mother's flesh and blood------her breast.
I have been given a Godmother too.
For what mother cannot do she'll do the rest.
She was there and she listened whenever I had to speak.
She held open her arms to comfort me so I would not feel weak.
She picked me up with laughter and lifted me up when I was down.
She read to me Bible scriptures that were so inspiring and sound.
She opened up her heart and she opened up her home.
She is one of God's faithful servants who claims me as her own.
She claimed me but I claim her too.
Exactly what a Goddaughter is supposed to do.
God ordained her as she took on that vow.
I know she loved me then and I know she loves me now.
I love her too and I always will.
I thank God on a daily basis for how I feel.
She's been my mentor, confidant, true companion, and friend.
I will always cherish her greatly until the very end.
Lift up your head, Godmother, and take your bow.
For God is smiling down on you here and now.
You deserve his blessings and certainly his praise.
You display your Godly devotion each and every day.
    I thank you Lord.
Oh, I thank you ,my God.
For my Godmother took two steps, now I will start with my mile.
God bless you, Godmother, you've been a very special friend.
My mother and I love you dearly and to that there is no end.
    Thank you ,my Lord.
Oh, I thank you , my God.
Praise you, Godmother, and keep your head to the sky.
    AMEN

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
