Colder Days
Another year has come and gone
Is it me, or are the winters getting colder?
Through this ride, yeah, I've had my fun
But still, it ain't easy getting older
Overwhelmed, this life hits hard
None hit harder, close to home
Broken trust and broken heart
Keep you cold and turned to stone
Would they stand before me now,
Those who took all that they could
Then left me dry, and tell me why
When we all live so short a life
Special moments few and short
Often laced with pain and strife
A twisted, crazy ride of sorts
And all I've ever done is be
True, honest, caring, kind
Its all I can do to be me
And sometimes I may be blind
But Im not perfect.
Would they stand before me now,
Those who took all that they could
Then left me dry, and tell me why
They keep coming back to me
On bended knees, to beg me please
Forgive, forget, or to appease
Like a disease
It wasn't I who made you
It wasn't I who betrayed you
It wasn't I who played you
For everything I had, I gave you
It was your decision.
