My heart's dance
See you look apon my beauty from the front porchI look at my beauty from the window out.
If beauty is the first thing to attract you
What makes you stay?
In my own way I put just a little of myself on display
You once looked at me in amazement, when
you caught my talent at play.
At first glance , It seems shallow , my heart
once you've peered again , it's a deep as any sea
I'd invite in , Yet my other half should have the key.
My yard is a bit tattered , covered with some debry
the outside of my home could use some repairing indeed
Inside , it's warm , cozy , inviting ,yearning for your company.
The wind blows , whispers of I-know-you-stories
I've closed my windows to them , they bore me.
In hopes that one day, you'll appear knowing what to say.
The seasons bring cheer, gloom, curiousity begans to bloom
I prod with questions , i'm too experienced to assume
still each time , he's not quite right.
Then a sudden thunder , crackles, pops through the sky
I ajar my door , the winds are thrashing hard.
At first our eyes met, I felt that in your chest
lived my heart . startled , a lost for words
yet your face grew more handsome with
every sparkle of lightening . So lost in the moment
I neglected to invite you in.
